In advance of the General Assembly’s high-level commemoration of UN Charter Day on June 25th, the Coalition for the UN We Need (C4UN) is hosting a virtual Global Town Hall which will consider alternative institutional, policy, and normative measures for taking forward the UN75 Declaration, inspired by the findings of a six-part “Fulfilling the UN75 Declaration’s Promise” expert roundtable series and a set of regional consultations that will be featured at this forum. The Global Town Hall will also consider reform ideas arising from the “We the People’s” digital consultation (April 23rd – May 21st), that is part of the Secretary-General’s “Our Common Agenda” outreach program, as well as consideration of a possible follow-on intergovernmental process as recommended in the Eminent Persons Open Letter signed by 50 former world leaders and UN officials.
