Reflections of the UN76th General Assembly & the IPCC Report:

Galvanizing Actions to End the Pandemic

Thursday, September 30, 2021 @1PM – 3:30PM, EDT

Recent United Nations processes have demonstrated both the tremendous needs and opportunities confronting the world today. This session will highlight a few of those while looking for practical next steps. Our speakers will touch on the UN General Assembly Revitalization process, the recent UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report leading up to COP26, the Secretary-General’s launch of “Our Common Agenda” for more effective multilateralism, and a recent Stimson Center report “Building Back Together and Greener: Twenty Post-Pandemic Initiatives for a Just, Healthy, and Sustainable Global Recovery.”  These initiatives, and more, come together to form a road map of the possible, allowing us to invest in innovative solutions to achieve the SDGs and the UN2030 Sustainable Development Agenda’s commendation to “Leave No One Behind.”
